- If you decide to move your domain to another provider, here’s a clear guide to follow.
- Please remember that domain migrations are managed by the new registrar you choose, so ensure they can handle the process.
Steps to Transfer Your Domain Away from Creative Yadley
1. Verify Domain Eligibility for Transfer
- Your domain must have been registered or transferred at least 60 days ago, per ICANN regulations.
- Ensure your domain is unlocked in the Client Area. The status should read “OK” or “Active.”
2. Request Your Domain Authorization (EPP) Code
- In your Creative Yadley Client Area, open a support ticket requesting your EPP code.
- An EPP code, also known as an Auth-Code, authorization code, transfer code, or Auth-Info Code, is a generated passcode required to transfer an Internet domain name between domain registrars.
- This unique code is required by your new registrar to confirm the transfer i.e., it indicates that the domain name owner has authorized the transfer.
3. Purchase the Transfer at Your New Registrar
- Log in to your account with your new registrar and initiate the transfer process by entering your domain in the format `domain.tld` (e.g., `example.com`).
- Provide the EPP code when prompted and complete any required payment.
4. Approve the Transfer
- Once the transfer request is submitted, your domain will go into “pendingTransfer” status. Your new registrar will handle the migration from here, but transfers typically take 5–7 days to complete.
- You may receive an email from us to confirm the transfer. Follow the instructions provided in this email to expedite the process.
Important Notes for Domain Migrations
DNS and Email: The transfer does not automatically change your domain’s DNS. If you are using Creative Yadley’s DNS (via Cloudflare) or email services, make sure to update these settings after the transfer to avoid interruptions. Your new registrar can help you point your domain to your hosting and email providers.
Suspended Domains: Domains that are suspended due to billing issues cannot be migrated. Ensure any outstanding payments are resolved before requesting the transfer.
Expiration Dates: If your domain has recently expired and been renewed with Creative Yadley, avoid transferring it within 45 days of the expiration date to avoid losing the additional renewal year and associated fees.
